Hi Folks,
I'm a long time Lurker here and am looking to tap into the vast depth of knowledge on the 6.5-284 Norma.
I've read quite a few threads regarding this cartridge, but am looking for advice/opinions on freebore before I move ahead.
I've got a standard bolt face action that will handle COAL's up to 2.990"
This is purely a hunting rifle, and will sport a 22" #3ish contour barrel.
The Nosler and Barnes data for the 6.5-284 Norma I see online shows COAL's up to 2.980"
Using the standard CIP 6.5-284 NORMA reamer, I imagine bullet jump will be significant, well over .200"
I am concerned about accuracy with that much bullet jump.
I am also considering the 65.-284 Manson reamer with .165" freebore.
The barnes 127 LRX would be jumping approx. .07" in the Manson chamber loaded to 2.980"
The Hornady 143 ELDX would be jumping approx. .08".
I will only be shooting bullets in the 120 to 140 weight range.
Looking for opinions on which reamer design to run with.
THX IN ADVANCE!
Mike
