These bullets were made for the 6.5 Grendel

Dang. Wonder how these would hold up on deer/antelope at 264WM velocities...
I haven't seen anything anywhere to suggest or prove that either the 120 or the 140 wouldn't hold up. My experience with 2 mule deer and the 140's at 2800fps have shown zero sign of fragmentation and both exited, one of which hit the neck dead center. I'm planning on doing some high velocity testing soon with a 6.5x284, I don't have gel so I'll try and replicate best I can and report. I did send some 120's and 140's down range on Saturday with a Savage SA fitted with an xcaliber barrel and accuracy was good but I need to work up higher in charge weight.

I was quoting a fellow Texas hunter who posted his email correspondence with Speer concerning the 120 GD (see below).
""FWIW: I emailed Speer and asked the question. Here is the response:

"The 120 gr is going to be designed for the velocities of the 6.5 Grendel and you would be better suited for the 6.5 Creedmoor to use the 140 gr Gold Dot as it is better designed for these higher velocities""

I have an old 264 mag too which shoots the lighter bullets better than the 140's. I may work up a load and test the Speer 120 on some hogs. I know they kill hogs like poison at muzzle velocities of 2400fps.

I use the 120 gr in my 6.5 max and never recovered a bullet. Tennis ball size holes but our feral goats are skinny and lanky. I'm sure a deer would absorb it better. The 140 gr holds up in my 26 Nosler and again I've never recovered a bullet even on feral cattle. Just a very good bullet.
