4895 powder new to reloading

IMR 4895 was the first powder I ever bought when I first started reloading. I ran it in my .223 with 50-55grn bullets, in my 308 using 150-175grn bullets, and in my wife's 7mm-08 using 120grn bullets. Overall a pretty useful powder in my book.
I have a 270 i shoot 150 grain in
150 to 165 in 308
140 to 160 in 7 mm rem mag
180 to 200 in 300 win mag
180 to 200 in 300 wsm
150 270 wsm
117 and 120 in 257 roberts
Havnt loaded 223 556 yet but in it i ussualy shoot 62 an 64 grain

It is faster than both 4350 and 4831. From what you listed its best in your 308, might work in your 257 roberts, but i dont have any experience there. 270, 300 win h4831 is what i use

I tried it in my 25-06 with 117grn bullets and didn't like it. I switched to 4350 and found the results I was looking for. I now run it only in my 308s. Seems to still do the trick in that! Haven't thought about running it in my 35 Wheelen…may need to give that a whirl.

I think it would work. Just went and looked at my notes and I actually run it in my 6 Dasher with 105 bergers as well. I think it would work fine in the 243. Looking at Hodgdon's website a good starting load for H4895 is 31 grns and IMR4895 is 32grns.

I bought a lb yoday i never used it before and another can of 4350.

I bought some IMR 4895 for 5.56 and 308 Win. I've also read that it's good for 30-06 150 gr loads. I have used H4895 in my 5.56, 308 win, and 30-06 and it's great for those cartridges.

If I remember correctly IMR4895 was used for Garand and M14 loads so I used H4895 for my M1A loads. The burn rates are close from what I've seen. Not the same, but close.
