I need 45-90 brass..... and have 45-70 to trade.....Are you able to use 45-90 brass and trim it to 45-70 length and chamber the brass as if it were 45-70? I'm not sure if case taper at the near 3 tenths longer will work after trimmed?
No. No 45-90 at all, just trying to figure out possible answers. The mouth might be too thick. Do you have starline 45-90?

The Answer is yes, Once upon a time RCBS sold .45 Caliber brass called .45 Basic Cases for forming 21 different calibers. The brass case was 3 and 1/8 inch long, so you could trim it down to the caliber you needed. Price was $7.65 for 20 casesAre you able to use 45-90 brass and trim it to 45-70 length and chamber the brass as if it were 45-70? Pretty much the same exact result if your bullet drops .001 larger than fired brass, as bpcrshooter stated.Mold size has nothing to do with brass size. Cast bullets should be sized .001 over barrel bore
Sorry, I missed the fired part.Pretty much the same exact result if your bullet drops .001 larger than fired brass, as bpcrshooter stated.
