4166

I've used it in 243AI with a Sporter barrel as shown. Also used it in 22-250 but it's a 16twist barrel and I have other loads I like better. I've kind of been short on 243 bullets so really just been playing with what I have had sitting and some times extinct bullets. 20210902_103206.jpg

It and 4451 seem to really handle temp changes well with no noticeable pressure issues.

4166 is a bit faster than Varget but it was ok in grandson's.223. 4451 is quite accurate in a friend's .243 with bullets in the 90's, same burn rate as H4350. Twist rate is a factor there. All the IMR Enduron powders are temp insensitive.

I'm running 4166 with a 87gr VMAX out of a 16.5in barrel (1/10 twist). 3130fps
Not any pressure signs, but pretty warm load. Only getting 5 loads out of Federal brass, that doesn't really mean anything. Primer pockets get loose.

That's my pickup gun, so far been very effective on pigs from 150yrds to 400. I know most people frown on using a bullet like that on larger game, but not a pig has moved (except the 400yrd), all DRT.

Well just ordered 4lbs of 4166. Going to try it in my 6.5-284 and sons 243. The 6.5 shoots Berger 130vld and my son shoots 95berger vld
