rechambered my blaser r 93 416 rem to 416 RUM. HAD DIES DONE BY WHIDDEN. now I just need some recommendations for reloading. J E CUSTOM gun has done rifles in this cal but I haven't ever seen posts about reloading except re 15 and 4350 being good powders. any one with experience with this round and willing to share info, I am sure open. my bullet is the 400 gr barnes tsx. hunting in south Africa end of dec , Xmas break for cape buff. I can also be reached directly by phone at 425 422 0104. allan

I attempted the same 4 years ago. Never heard back J E Custom on any kind of load data. I ended up going with a 416 Ruger and haven't looked back.

I will have to measure but probably same as factory 375 rum
absolute max mag length is 3.682. I have cycled 375 rum through it that are 3.622. they feed fine. I just haven't messed with loading the resized cases until I can at least have a starting load to try. prefer to use imr 4350

imr 4350, 400 gr barnes tsx
an update on this project. I loaded this cartridge with 94.0 gr imr 4350 and 400 gr barnes tsx and 400 gr bronze mono for a mv of 2465 . it is a compressed load and all I need. I am sure there is more velocity with other powders but I am not looking to compete with the 416 weatherby. it shoots fantastic, grouping one in outside to outside, at 100 yds with a 4x scope! shot a very nice cape buff in Dec, one and done! put a very nice 416 hole through his heart, frontal quartering at about 30 yds. also shot a beautiful golden wildabeast , one and done at about 110 yds. I am grateful to benchmark barrels, ptg , whidden for helping with this project. would love to hear from others.

I have a 416 Rigby, had a 416RM, but the Rigby is just easy to get great ballistics from. I run the 410g Woodleigh RNSP right at 2550fps and there's plenty of room to increase this if desired.
I hunt northern Australia for Water Buff and Banteng every year with a few big bores and my 375 Weatherby running 300g Woodleigh PP's on the same animals. A 300g hitting with 2850fps is night and day different to the same bullet at 2600fps from my 375H&H, which I don't use often…

Cheers.

I also love the rigby. I have a ruger 77 mag in 416 rigby and one of my prize rifles a one of 125, heym . but I wanted to use he blaser and no choice for the rigby. also have multiple other big bores. 450 rigby 500 jeffery, 2 550 mags, 577 t rex, 600 overkill. 700 ahr. 3 458, 2 375 hh, 375 rum, 3 338 lapuas, 378 weatherby, blaser s2 470 nitro double, 470 bibamufu. think I got little carried away. just crazy for them.they are addicting! something magic about the 416 though.
