My dad is getting older and he offered to sell me his 40X 300Win Mag. He bought this new from remingtons custom shop a long time ago. Back in the day he shot this one a ton in matches. I am wanting to rebarrel this to something in .284 I already have a fully custom 26" 7wsm and I love it but I'd like to go a little longer and heavier on this one... 28 Nosler most likely around 29 inches... on this single shot short action 40X action would this be an okay combination with 175-195 VLDs?
