4,000fps/ 6mm bullet 1-8” twist advice

Coyote hunting with a thermal. Max range would be 300yrds. Don't want to worry about hold overs. Have a 6mm creedmoor like to push a 55ish grain bullet near 4,000fps. Barrel has a 1-8" twist rate.

Which bullets have you guys successfully used that won't have the jacket come apart mid flight..

My guess is you will have to go mono. I'm not sure of any cup and cores that will hold together at 4K. I've never tried so I can't say for sure. Maybe a nosler varmagedon?

You could try SBK 55gr or go up to the SBK 70 gr but might not get 4K FPS
A .204 SBK .32gr can get 4K+ and doesn't blow apart.
Personally I would go with the 70gr SBK and sight in at 200yds.

55gr Hammer Hunter or 69gr Absolute Hammer. Might not get 4k with the 69 AH, but it would be a wicked coyote round at 3800+. No holding over at 300.

The 52SMK's seemed to be praised for holding up in 1&8 22-250s at 3800 fps so maybe try the 6mm 70SMK's or 55SMB's. Other that monos maybe the answer. Hammer makes a 55gr hammer hunter that would be up to the task.

Try the 55 gr Nosler ballistic tip.

Have taken it to 4200 fps with a 6mm-284 1 in 9.25 (326,912 RPMs) and a 30" 6 BR 1 in 8 3900 fps (351,000 RPMs).

If you get 4000 fps RPMs would be 360,000. I think the bullet will work.

Guys are getting between 3,800-3,900 ft/sec with the Nosler 55 BT in their 6mmBR rifles. You should be able to get 4,000 tf/sec in a Creed without too much difficulty.

In my .243, I was able to shoot about any 55ish bullet to 4000 fps. The Vmax and Noslers are what I have on the shelf. Pretty flat to 400 but cause masive pelt damage on coyotes.

Both a 55 grain 22 Nosler BT and a 55 6mm Nosler BT will work. I have a 22x6mm Rem and a buddy has a 243 Win with a 30" barrel. I've had mine over 4000 fps and he had the 243 to 4300 fps. No problems.

I'm shooting a220swift and using 55gr Nosler's ballistic tips varmint bullets. I m pushing about 3800 fps and it does exceptionally well,seems like the faster these things fly the better they do.ps. That one flier you see is my fault should have checked brass a little closer it had a small crack in the shoulder when I ejected it

I recently came across a22-6mm and my load data requests from 65gr to 80gr and 75 grns being best but if you're shooting 55's well I might have to try some 55's myself been looking for heavier bullets to try but I have some 55's. 60's. 1-9 twist thanks for the info

I think they'll handle the twist and speed just fine. The calibers under 6.5 or 270 or so behave different as far as what they can take rpm wise. Wouldn't work for lead cores in a .30 cal going that fast and spinning that hard but I think you'll be fine with a 6 mm no problem.
