I don't know if you located a Whelen or not, just happened to be browsing, looking to spend my grandkid's college fund and found this one. A little pricey certainly could make an offer.

I missed that you were looking for just a barrel. I had a 338-06, good caliber, shoot really well and easier on the shoulder than the big brother Magnum. I had one in an Encore barrel, shot really well, sold to a guy in Maine for bear hunting.

Just an FYI, don't know what you plan to do with the rifle, however I have had quite a few 30 cal barrels rebored by JES reboring in Oregon, nice job, $225 includes shipping, quick turaround, good phone service, always returns calls, shoot MOA with all of them. He could have rebored the current barrel off of the Remington. I was not sure about having a barrel rebored, however not sorry that I did it at all. He rebored two Ruger 77s from 30-06 to 35 Whelen and a Browning BLR from .308 to .358 Winchester, all three are real shooters out to 300 yards, what I consider to be maximum for these calibers.
