.340Wby Help

Guys I'm just getting into bigger guns I'm mostly .223 & .308 mag cals. I have a .340 wby MKV Acc mark with a 26'' barrel. I'm mostly a WT hunter here in SC so they are not big. So I was thinking of playing with some LR shooting so I'm thinking of starting with Nosler 225 AB. I want to go 500-700yds with this gun so I'm open anything at this point

The 200, 225 and the 250 Accubonds are all good bullets.

For Elk I would/Do use the 225 or 250. On deer the 200 grain will do great in the 340 and
not beat you up as much.

I've been shooting the 225 gr AB out of my 338 RUM at essentially 340 Wby velocity of 3050 fps for several years. It is an excellent bullet and I find that this load matches the Burris Ballistic Plex reticle perfectly out to 600 yds with a 200 yd zero. I don't think you would see significant trajectory and wind drift differences between the three 338 Accubond weights out to 700 yds. Try all three and shoot the one your rifle likes best.
