UPS dropped off a 9.3 twist 338 20" fluted Broughton barrel today. I am going to use it for a XP-100 build for elk hunting in Montana this fall. I have a 330 Dakota reamer I am going to chamber the barrel in the morning. I also have a Jewell trigger with bottom safety 40 MOA base to mount a 3.5x10x50 Leupold scope and a walnut rear grip stock I am going to use for this build.

Very cool! I have a 338/284 XP100R with a 16" barrel and 3-12x Burris scope. It shoots the 180 gr Ballistic Tip bullets ~2400 fps with Varget. Great gun with a hefty kick.
I chambered the barrel today and installed the brake I desided I wanted the barrel 18" to make it easier to carry in the mountains on the 330 dakota here is a pic
I am planning on using this for a wilderness backpacking hunt in Montana where I will be packing in and setting up camps along the way. This will be very rugged country with most of it being off trail so I am trying to keep the weight down a little.

What's the total weight on your setup? I just finished a 338/375 Ruger on a Savage Striker and the finished weight is 9.5lb. Your barrel looks like a heavier contour though.
Also, have you chronographed any loads yet? I'm guessing that the 330 Dakota and the 338/375 Ruger will be pretty close in performance. In fact I'm using 330 Dakota data as a base point for my load data.

The XP-100 is just under 9 pounds with the bi pod and scope I am getting 2880 fps with the 225 accubond bullet I am a big fan of the 338 for deer and elk hunting.
