338 Win Mag twist

Lots of good information here. I recently purchased a Ruger Hawkeye Guide gun in 338 win mag. It has a 1:9.3 twist. Has any body shot this rifle or have experience with it. I'm not looking for speed or long range. I want a 200 yd Thors Hammer. With that twist I would say 250s ought to be ok. Next would be bullet choice. I don't have any experience with the 338 or heavy bullets.

I'm new to the 338 as well. I built a short barrel 338 RUM with a 23" barrel with a 9 twist. I went with the 200 gr Apex Afterburner. I get 3200 FPS using R26. No on game experience so far unfortunately. Still tweaking the load and think I need to bed my rifle.
