This is for a Model 70. I am going to do a SS barrel with 6 flutes and try for a 0.725" muzzle diameter.

What would be the best length for velocity and accuracy with a 225 gr Accubond. Not too concerned with weight. I was thinking 26-27" length.

Who makes a decent barrel that you don't have to wait 6 months for? I have a McGowan barrel that shoots really well, they claim to be 4 weeks out. Lilja? Pac-Nor?

Thanks.

I went with a 27" for my 338WM.

The 1-12 shoots great with the 200-225 gr bullets but, if there's any chance you'll shoot anything heavier go with a 1-10.

Contact Steve Satern at 712-362-4991. Short wait time and excellent customer support.

I'm currently shooting his barrels on a 300 and 338 Win Mags, 338/375 Ruger and 338 Lapua.

Overall very impressed, on par with the best out there.
