338 RUM Velocity and freebore with 300gr EH

I have been asking a lot of questions on this site to decide on a couple of builds. one of the builds I have settled on is a 338 RUM maybe an Edge built on a left hand 700 RUM action with a 26" barrel using a 3.825 Wyatt's box. I like the 300 grain Berger EH in my Savage 112 Magnum Target and believe I would like to use them in the RUM or EDGE. Can anyone tell me what I can expect for velocity with either cartridge in a 26" barrel.

Also can anyone tell me how much free bore I need for the 300 EH using a 3.825 Wyatt's box?

So no one is shooting 300 grain Berger's in a 338 RUM? How about an OAL of your round and velocity. Maybe I can load one up and send it in for a reamer.

not the 300 but I shoot the 250 eh out of my 338 rum at 3050, 28 inch barrel my over all length is 3.850 my free bore is .122 on that reamer. not exactly what you what to know but maybe it will help

I had a 26 inch barreled edge that ran 2730 with the 300 berger it picked up to 2850 with a 30 inch. my edge coal is 4.04 to the lands with .198 freebore
I just happend to check my powder capacity on both cases yesterday and there was about 7 grain difference in the rum and edge so I would imagine that the RUM could push the 300 pretty close to 2800

In my old RUM I was running 88grs H1000 -010" off the lands with a 300gr SMK AT 2,734 FPS. Now running an Edge with a 300gr Berger -.035" off the lands with 90grs H1000 at 2,809 FPS.

I just set some 300s up in my rum and looks like they are 3.870 oal (2.930 with my comparitor) to the lands with .122 freebore, my mag box allows 3.85. I single feed any ways so I may try the 300s , I dont know why tho lol cuz the 250s do really good but I want to see how the RUM will do with the 300s and rl 33

Wow that is way less freebore than I would have thought. that would mean in a 3.85 box even if you maxed it out .102 would be all it takes to hit the lands. The stuff you learn.
