Hello,
long time no see.
Trying out Woodleigh 250 now, here´s my 400 meter target from today:
400 meters looked good enough so I moved my target to 500, the absolute maximum for my moose shots.
Three shots, about 5" I think. 400 gave me three shots in 4", funny that one can spend a couple of hours with six rounds... here they are, two in the plate and one high left. 500 meters, that is.
Lots of excercise verifying the trajectory, six rounds and three kilometers, walking back and forth in the swamp. I´ll check 600 meters next, this load looks good enough for me to go on. For some reason I´ve made myself think that these Woodys are for close range only. Not so, 500 meters is long for me anyway.
Any experiences on big game with these bullets?
Here´s my data:
Cartridge : .338 Lapua Mag.
Bullet : .338, 250, WDL PP WeldCore 56B
Cartridge O.A.L. L6 : 3.540 inch or 89.30 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch or 609.6 mm
Powder : Vihtavuori N165
96 grains, 2950 fps ,CCI 250.
EDIT: OVER MAX LOAD!!!
