338 Lapua Muzzle Brake ??

I going to re-barrel my 700 MLR to a 338 Lapua Improved. This is my first big-bore build. I am looking for suggestions for muzzle brakes. Thanks in advance.

I have one of Kirby Allen's 3 port "Pain Killer" brakes on my 338 LM IMP, tames it down to about a 25-06. It's a 16lb rifle and you can ALMOST let it free recoil.

You might want to rethink a 338 LM IMPROVED on a Rem 700 action, a lot of smiths won't do it.

I have used a couple of Ross Schuler's brakes. They are very similar to the Holland QD brake.

They really tame down the two 338 Edges I've used them on.

Muscle Brake all the way!!! I hated brakes till I tried one out, everything is getting one now. I can watch bullet holes appear at 100yrds with my 270 WSM with the 3 port. Installing a 4 port on a 338 RUM soon.

I am NOT a Gunsmith, just going by what I have read SEVERAL times, posted by Kirby and others, do a search on this site and you should be able to read what has been said and why.
