Thanks for the response:
I was going to start with 88 grains of VVn570. I have had reasonable results -about 2730fps with 80 grains of VVn560 but thought that the slower burning N570 and fuller case might make for a more consistent and flexible load
Im sure you are loading them down a bit but I'm getting 2990 from the 285 with 93gr of N570. RL 33 at 96 grains and the 300 Berger shows 2900 out of a 32 inch barrel. The problem is temp sensitivity with RL 33.
I will be trying the 88 grains of VV N570 on the weekend and will let you know the results i.e. speed, group size etc. The speed you are getting from the 285gr Hornady is impressive. Are there any pressure signs?
I am using a Blaser TAC2 so it should be strong enough to handle the load
Thanks for your advice
No pressure signs but they are near maximum. I get about 7 firings from the brass, sometimes 6. Good luck and I hope the wind cooperates. Always frustrating trying to work up a load in gusting wind.
