I have a 338 lapua improved 40° bit the redding dies I have are not giving me enough shoulder bump and I need a shoulder bump die. Would like a neck sizer possibly too if anyone has a lead on where to find that.

Redding makes a competition shell holder set that will give you different amounts of shoulder bump in .002 increments up to .010

I would but the Dillon press I have doesn't use a normal shell holder. I may purchase a single stage press and mount it though just so I can do that.

@backyardsniper make sure you get the proper die spec'd to your reamer. There are a few variations floating around.

As for neck dies - if you dig around you can find a hornady universal 338 neck sizing die. We have used those in a pinch for the lapua ai's.

We've also had the same issue with redding dies & 338 ai's not bumping shoulders --- purchase a single stage press, then have your smith chuck up your shell holder in his lathe to take off material on the shell holder.

I would do this before taking material off your die!

I do have one of those universal 338 mag neck sizer actually. I just put the fies in the mail to the Smith. Since I run a Dillon he is gonna take about .010 off the bottom of the dies so I can adjust them. If that doesn't work in just gonna send off the brass and get a custom set of dies made.

That'll probably be my next step. I called them the other day and left Wiley a message but they never called back. I know they're busy though. I may give them another call. N
