Trying to find a load using H1000 and 250gr. Berger Elite Hunters in my 338 Lapua.
Had some good accuracy with 88gr. but speed was 2680fps
Berger's max charge of 90gr. is giving me 2780 fps. and accuracy diminished.
Is this the maximum velocity I can expect out of this bullet?
I really hope doing at least around 3000fps.
Any experiences?
Thanks

I'm running 91 grains of H1000 with a 300 grain Berger EH. However, this is with a different chamber. I would try a ladder/pressure test and see where pressure shows!

Looks great!
2915 is Fps?
Just curious, what did you notice on your comment of 96. as "too much"?

I have my 250gr. SGK's doing 3050fps with 96gr. of H1000. (actually had them @3150 @98gr. but lost accuracy) Great load for my
set up but not getting any performance on Hogs. Two .33 cal. holes in and out, no blood, many run off.
If they catch bone they are devastating.
This is why I'm back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the help.

Ran some test loads today with the Berger 250gr. EH's
Lapua brass, Fed 215, H1000
Excellent accuracy at 2820-2850fps. 92&93grs.

I am hoping to get to around 3000 + fps. With 250grs.
(I am getting 3050 fps with my current heads)
Since I am already a little above Bergers recommendations I am debating on whether to keep going.
No pressure signs.
Am I asking too much?
Thanks.

Nice!
This is my first time loading Bergers. I think my confusion is their load data. It shows max velocities of around 2800fps with 250's and 2700 with 300's. I hate to go against the rules but I see many cases, such as yours, where there is great success above and beyond the data given.
Thank you for the input.
