308 win on long action

I have a brand new l
Remington 700 long action and was thanking about a 30-06 ai but starting to thank about doing a 308 win on long action due to a friend of mine has a brand new 5r bartlin barrel I can get for cheap.any one done a 308 on a long action for seating bullets way out there? Or would it be a waist of time?

Should work fine. I have a 25-284 on a long action R700. Seat bullets long and it works fine.
