had he shot a posocw he would be broke'r only.
it does not work for anyone with the knowledge on how to shoot a ladder plain and simple. it cost more money and introduces wind. so go away. it is about the second or third step in this guys LADDER.

You sir are the one that needs to go away as you are the only one not beings civil.

Sorry poster it needed to be said. I wont waste my/your time anymore with negative people.

I will agree with ar10ar15man, I don't throw any shots out unless it's a rare called flyer, where I screw up on my hold or trigger pull. If you have a shot that felt good but fell out of the otherwise decent group, you need to find out why, especially when hunting. Flyers without cause are simply unacceptable and can usually be identified by extremes in either velocity, ES or SD. Find and eliminate the cause (if possible) or move on to a different load. Personally, the bane of my shooting is usually the 3 & 2 groups. Trying to pin down the causes can drive a guy to strong drink!

Well, there you have it. Ladder testing is the only method that works! I guess I need to break down all my rounds and start over.

Dan Newberry's approach on OCW is designed to find an accuracy node that is insensitive to powder lot variation, brass, primer, etc. He teaches long range shooting and many people use his method or a derivative with success. ar10ar15man's comment on introducing wind shows he has most probably never used the method nor understands it.

I shot some more 308 rounds today to verify my load. I tried 43.5, 43.6, 43.7 again then added 43.8, 43.9, and 44. I believe I'm going to stick with 43.7 and then fine tune the seating depth now. I'm not sure what happened with 43.6 but 43.7 was still good this time. It could have been the shooter.

It's been a while since I've been able to shoot due to having our third daughter in June. Now that things are settled down, I made it to the land to shoot. Bushes were too tall to get past 175 yards but it was enough. Below are the results from my fine tube seating depth test. I started off with 0.05 OTL. I went in steps of 0.005 to get to 0.06 and then the other direction to 0.04.

Looks like my original 0.05 or longer to 0.04 might be best. See below.
