I am loading up some 168 gr bergers for my 308 and setting them .20 off the land my oal is 2.915. is it ok to run them out that far or should I set them back to 2.810 saami length? the Rifle is a savage with a mcGowan 1/10 twist barrel. Thanks Ryan

Run them out till they hit the riflings and then back them up .010-.020 shorter. If your using a magazine fed rifle...make sure they can cycle thru the magazine and into the chamber.

at 2.9 the most you will be able to load is 1 in the chamber and 1 in the magazine (with the nose into the feed ramp) really not a problem as there is no real use for loading more than 2

Go to the top of this reloading page and read how to find the sweet spot where Berger bullets shoot best. You may be able to load them so they will work through the magazine which will be waaaaaaay off the lands.
