Most of the load development threads are focused on the hottest loads. I want to develop a good load that will maximize barrel life. All things being equal, I would believe that mild loads would be easier on a barrel than hot loads, but even this will have a limit.
Are some powders cooler than others? I have hears that H-1000 is cooler than Retumbo but cannot confirm this.
I will try to develop a load w/ an accuracy node in the following ballpark: 2700 FPS for a 212 ELD-X (3431 ft.-lbs.).
Any advice for my load development quest?
