Just finished this one. Started with a 308 ended up 300WSM. Installed PTG one piece mag bolt. Blue printed action including opening up scope mounts to #8 screw and pinning rail.Install wyatt extended box and follower for the WSM. Barrel is a Krieger rem. varmint contour finished at 26 inches. McMilan stocks with adj. cheek. The 308 barrel was much larger so I had to bed the stock out to the end. Barrel is floated. Shot it this morning with 2 different loads. The very first shot was a little high and left. The next 3 were 185 Bergers with H4350. The next 3 were 180 accubonds with H 4831sc. All six were almost touching. Looks like it wants to shoot.

Nice! Don't be afraid to reach out a ways. I shot a 3.75" 545 yard group last Saturday out of my Savage 12VBSS from the prone. I'll try and post a pic of the steel with me holding the tape. I'm shooting 185 Berger VLD's in front of H4831SC. Quite an awesome round. Making the way out to 1,000! Once again, good shooting!!

I am sure the owner will. Allready boxed up to be shipped. I was just test firing it and checking for feeding problems. I am sure it will do better with some proper load development. Only seven rounds down the tube. Thanks for looking. Your target is very nice also. Dan

Nice rifle. The colors, although common, seem unique/unusual.

The cheekpiece is interesting. Did you cut the top/front corner off? Any particular reason?

Another question for you on your test loads. It is interesting that you test fired with H4350 and H4831. I would think the go-to powders for the WSM cartridges would be H1000 or Retumbo. What made you go with H4350 and H4831?

Excellent looking rig! An adjustable McM hunting stock is hard to beat. I wish it shot as well as it looks ;-)

I think it shot ok with only seven shots down the barrel,no load development, and 2 different loads and bullets. By the way any idea how far the group was shot at. Dan

Thank you Dan! I can't wait to get the gun and it looks awesome and Im thrilled with the way it shoots. 7 shots with a couple random loads that shoot good in other rifles that almost touch is good with me :D

Im going to start working up a load with 185gr Berger Classic Hunters with H4350. Anybody shooting anything similar in a 300wsm?

sweet rig I may have to keep the one I have for sell and dress it up a little to make it more appealing to keep
