I have some 210 VLD's that I now wish to try for an accuracy load in the 26" barrel of my Sendero 300 Win Mag.

I have W-W Brass and Fed # 215 primers

I still have a small amount of Rel 22 which is virtually impossible to get in the U.K at present along with H 1000 and Retumbo.

Has anyone used either of the latter 2 powders with the 210 VLD, if so what loads gave good results?

I aim to start out with the bullet around .010" from the lands.

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

I had excellent results w/69.5grs. of RL22 & 210 Bergers. While not the fastest load around it avg. 2,775 fps(27"bbl) for 20 rds. The ES was around 11 fps. This load was good enough for two 1,000 yd. blue ribbons.

Thank you for the reply, sorry I had ben away and not checked the site for a response for a week or two, your load is in the range of those I had read of previously and one I shall certainly try- thanks again

Jonathan,

I have not tried the Berger 210 but have developed a load with the wildcat 210 rbbt and h1000. It is warm but primer pockets are still tight and no other pressure signs evident . As always you should work up to it . The load is 78.8 grs with the bullet seated to jump 10 thousandths ,fed 215gm primers ,lapua brass.
Velocity is 2963 avg. and es 13 sd 5. 100 yd groups in the high .3's Havent had time to test at long range yet .

Thank you for your data, that is real useful info as I am in touch with Richard at present over bullets for my .270, he did send me a sample of his 290 grain RBBT .308, one heck of a bullet but in the case of my own 1:10 twist .300 Mag I think maybe a little too much bullet, I will speak with him about the 210 version.

Of the loads I have tried so far with H1000 and the 200 grain Accubond I have found that shot to shot consistency is very good indeed, far more so than say Rel 22 which is more than a little difficult to source in the U.K at present.

6glycerin,

That H 1000 will be a lot more gentle on your throat tha t the RL powders . I use the RL powders but am aware that I am paying a price to do so . I only use them if the load provides exceptional accuracy .

Good shooting , Jim B.

WILDCAT 190gr in 300 Win Mag

HELLO 300 Win Mag fans...

My factory 300 SAKO Greywolf with 23-1/2" factory barrel hasn't been consistent till recently when I started using H1000 with large rifle (non magnum) primers.

Havnt settled on a "pet load" to-date but current load is WILDCAT 190RBT over 81.5 grains H1000 @ 2930 fps using Lapua brass with Redding dies.
My objective is to get 1/2" consistent accuracy" anywhere over 2900 fps.

I was starting to think I needed a recrown or bedding job.

The temporary optics mounted are NXS 5.5-22

Thanks for looking guys

Have any of you guys tried H-4350 in the 300 Win Mag? I know it's a little faster burn rate but I was having a hard time grouping 180 Accubonds with RL-22 and H-4831. I had some H-4350 and put together some work up loads. 3 shot groups are consistently averaging just under 0.5 and 3025 fps. SD is low as well. So far this is the best load my 700 has shot.

300 win mag 210 vlds

i've been shooting 300 win mag for a longtime and have had very good results with H1000 and VHT 170.depending on the weather i mostly use the VHT 170 Berger 210s,JLK 190S and 69 -71grs with excellent results. average 5 shot grps @ 100 in the dime size range on a good day.FROM THIS RIFLE

I am a big fan H4350. After many loads I've found that 75gr. pushing a 150nosler ballistic tip at about 3400fps is my most accurarte. I've also tried to get 165 and 180 gr. noslers to shoot with variable grains of H4350 and RE22, but just couldn't get satisfied. Now I must confess, it was purely by accident, but believe it or not I loaded my 150 noslers 0.100 off the lands( thats 1/10 of an inch). But I tell you it's accurate (under 4 inches) at 550 yards. I also know it's pushing the max load. Maybe thats why it likes it so far from the lands, don't know, don't care. Now I'm toying with some berger 168 match vld loads and though I havent shot them past 300 yds they are tight. I found that 77gr. of RE22 at 3100fps so far, is the recipe. I loaded them at 0.008 of the lands but I've read that the vld bullets perform best touching the rifling, havn't got that far yet.

Reloader 22 seems to work great with 180's but with the 200 to 220 gr bullets the Reloader 25 and H1000 are very popular in the 300 win mag

JT i used up to 72 and 72.5 of re-22. the 215 primer gave me higher velocity and higher es and higher pressure. i used wlrm in the matches.

I also have good luck with RE-22 and 180's, however, my paper load is 208 Amax's and H-1000 and my hunting load is 210 Bergers and H-1000. They have the same POI with 75.5 and 76 gr respectively.
