300 RUM with 110 gr bullet

Does anyone have any experience with a bullet as small as a 110 grain (V-Max) in a 300 RUM?

my father in law shoot the 115 XLC in his 300 rum I'm always wondering why? He had to do a lot of load work up to get it to shoot but I have to say it shoots under .25 at 200 yards.

The reason why I'm asking is that I just want to see how it performs. And if someone has som loading data I would be glad. This could save me some work
