300 Rum Loads with 220 SMK and 240 SMK

I would appreciate any load information you have for the 300 RUM using the 220 SMK and the 240 SMK bullets. I have Retumbo, H-1000, and Reloader 25 powder that I can use with the Nosler brass and Federal 215 primers.

I am currently running 90 grains of H1000, behind the 220 SMK, and Federal 215M primers. OAL is 3.6850!

I have awesome results with this! I have a first generation Remington Sendero with a 26 in barrel and a brake!

My pet with the 240 is 103 grains of US869

Fire formed brass

OAL 3.625

Fed 215m primer

Rem brass

Runs right at 2950...

I have run it up to 104.5 grains.. But accuracy goes to u know what.. Also FOR ME bumping it down to 103 gave me some room with no presure signs,

But it's a hot load.. PLEASE START LOWER..

I also played with the seating.. At 3.60 slight pressure but still good accuracy.. Those were also fl sized though..

86.5gr of Retumbo with a 240gr Matchking was giving me around 2900fps in a 26" bbl i believe, its been a while, i will double check and bet back to you. I know it was not a high pressure load

If memory serves me well, I believe those are moving about 2979 FPS!

Older thread but thought I'd offer my loads.

Nosler brass
Federal GM215M
220 smk 87.5 grains retumbo 3.655" 3075fps
240 smk 92.0 grains H50BMG 3.658" 2913fps ES 2
Both seated to kissing the lands
28" pacnor on a trued rem 700

These bullets shoot bug holes but the 220 smk gives me vertical at longer ranges. Also the nosler brass is ten grains heavier than my sorted rem brass.

The pic is my first 1000 yard group I ever shot 6.5". It's with the 220 SMK. The top three masked taped holes are from 750 yards 4.4".

I FINALLY got the dang search function to bring up something I was looking for. I just bought a box of 240's to try in my 700 LR .300 RUM. I see others shot them in 1:10.
