Has anyone seen this done or have one? I believe I just bought a custom built 300 RUM that is on a short action.
It's a single shot and the action is so short it will not eject a loaded cartridge. It will barely eject a spent one, but to eject a loaded cartridge, I have to pull out the bolt with the cartridge still help by the claw. Action port is only 2.75 inches long and the COL for a 300 RUM cartridge is 3.6 inches.
I am concerned that the gun is not safe because I have to remove the bolt to eject a live cartridge.
