So I got these from a friend saying he had some 300RUM brass. He did have some in the mix, but everything else just says 300 Magnum. The length is the same as a RUM, but shoulders look Obviously different. I'm not finding any information on the headstamp, anyone have any ideas?

case is belted ... and was once a 300 H&H cartridge that was fired in a 300 Weatherby chambered rifle ..

REM UMC = Remingtom Union Metallic Cartridge

it was typical of Rem to stamp 300 Magnum on their 300 H&H brass

I fired a bunch of Rem UMC 300 (H&H) Magnum ammo in my 8mm Rem Mag rifle back in the early 90's, just to make quick easy brass from cheap 300 Magnum ammo, now it seems to have a bit of a collectors value for factory original ammo

Here is a variation run by the AMU:

There are several variations made where the .300 H&H cases were used. My favorite was to just shoot the factory H&H in a .300 Weatherby Mag chamber. Before the nit-pickers get their hackles up, yes, these cases came up just a tiny bit short in the neck!;)
