Does anyone have any information if Nosler is to introduce a new round this year. They did the 26 Nosler in 2014, and the 28 Nosler in 2015. What is next for this year. My buddy wants to do a 300 ULTRA Mag. But I was thinking a 30 Nosler. A 28 Nosler necked up to 30 calliber to shoot the new ELD-X 200 and 212 grain bullets.

Unless they change their design, a 30 Nosler isn't going to be the same as a 28 Nosler necked up to 30 caliber.

I heard that they are doing the 30 this year. I think you are spot on about selecting it over the 300 RUM. I have a 28 Nosler and it is really nicely balanced and easy to load for (unlike the 26 Nosler which for me was a bit high strung). The 30 should be easy to load for too. And I've been working with the 30 cal 212 grain ELD-X. Put 3 into 0.688" at 200 yards on my very first try so they are pretty friendly too. No need to mess with seating depth, I just put them 0.020" off and they work.

I'm not sure, but no need to wait for SAAMI (maybe that's all ready pending). Pac Nor will make you a 30 Nosler. You can also get reamers.

Besides, if Nosler did make it, the'd twist their rifles around their own bullets. Probably 1:10 or so for the 190 and 210 ABLR. But you could probably do better with a 1:9 to push the 230 grn Berger bullets.

My buddy's new build parts are.
Pierce SS LA
Schneider #4 fluted 1-9 5P Finnish at 26.5"
Manner EH2 with mini chassi
Jewell trigger set at 1.5lb
Wyatt center feed mag and follower
Rem. 700 BDL bottom metal

He also will be shooting Berger 215-230 Hybrids

30 Nosler is listed in their new reloading manual so the official announcement should be coming.
