30-378 velocity

What velocities are you guys getting out of your 30-378s? I loaded up a buddies with 107grains of retumbo, berger moly 185vld, 10 thou off the lands and got 3680fps with a sd of 7fps. Gun has a 27 1/2in, 12twist schneider. This load shot great! No signs of pressure. Ohler chrony. Does this sound right? Seems really fast.

That seems extremely fast. Hodgdon load data for 180gr SPR SPBT with 113C gr Retumbo shows 3460fps. For 190gr HDY SPBT with 111.5C gr Retumbo shows 3374fps. (26" 1 in 10" twist)

My results for 168gr Barnes TSX with 114gr Retumbo averaged at 3526fps, no preasure signs. (28" 1 in 10" twist)

I don't see how 107gr could get that big of a bullet to go that fast. One of our chronies is off.

I was thinking the same thing, very fast! Next time at the range I will have to take a proven rifle, to match it up. Could be that my ohler is messed up.
