30-378 Accuracy loads w/ 200 Eld x

Friend shot out his old 30-378 Accumark. We were shooting 180 AB s with 111 grs Retumbo and 3/4 Moa was normal.

He's wanting to try the 200 gr Eld x in this new Accumark and looking for others experiences. Especially interested in Retumbo but other info appreciated as well. Thinking 3150 FPS +/- 50 FPS should be obtainable.

ive had good accuracy with the 210 accubond lr and h50bmg in my accumark. but since those havent been available for a while i just picked up some 190 berger vld's

Taylor what charge weight on the powder and what kind of velocities??

Ill have to look in my record book to confirm but I want to say right around 110 gr and 3050 FPS. I could have pushed it faster but that's where I had the best accuracy.

Thank you that had to be a long range Thumper! when I had one we used 122-123 grains 50bmg with a 180 grain ballistic tip, 3480 FPS that was in the early 90's before I was aware of the advantage of high BC bullets and thought just speed was the key.

It definitely surprised me the first time I dialed up 925 yds and nailed a steel plate in the wind.

It's incredible the amount of information that has become so readily available in even the last five years on reloading and bullets.

I use 210 VLD Bergers with 111.7 grains of H50BMG @ 3050 fps

I shoot 210gr Bergers with H1000 and now Retumbo. A bit more velocity with the Retumbo and equal accuracy as the H1000. Near max charge per Berger manual for each. Nosler brass and 215M primers in factory Mark V. Some friends are getting good accuracy with H1000 and a few grains less charge in their Accumarks. Every rifle likes something different. My rifle wouldn't shoot very accurate with the 215 Bergers.

I am running H50 with Fed 215 and 230 gr Berger. Tried it at a grand and it was good.

I shoot it slow. Nothing to brag about but in my gun it shot well. I did bed the factory stock and worked on the trigger. Following is my load.
Fed 215M
230 Berger
H50BMG. 105 grain
3.805 from Base of case to the tip
From what I shot at a 1000 yd club off a bipod it was 23.19 Moa at a altitude of 1100 with a temp of 67 degrees humidity 30 and baro 28.54

That was my gun Don't know what someone else's would do. But it surprised me actually how well it did do. With that said I left it alone and haven't really messed with it since. I just check my zero and go.
