I have a 338 lapua and was thinking about a rebarrel to 30-338 and run the Berger 245dollars, 26 inch plus a brake. It's a Moa evolution..what powder and what kind of velocity can I expect ?

The .300 Lapua is essentially what you're looking at and it actually a standardized cartridge but was never released as same so there's not a whole lot of data available.

Powders like RL33, Retumbo, maybe even .50bmg.

Performance should be in line with that of the 30-378, a bit of an improvement over the 300 Rum.

If you give all your data to someone running Quickload they can probably give you some starting numbers to work with.

I am currently working up load development for a 30-338 / 308 Norma on my 200 gr partitions I am getting around 2830 constantly using 4831 69 gr. Keep you posted. With powder and primers in short supply in Alaska turning into a lengthy process
