The ballistic calculator on the LRH home page is a great resource for doing just what you need. You can enter any any combination of muzzle velocity and bc to determine drop, wind, TOF, Ft. lbs etc.

It is a great tool.

What rifle are you loading for? What are you looking to do? Me personally, I don't get to go out and shoot 1k yards. Heck, I would have to travel awhile to even get 500yds, BUT, I can go out my back door and get 200yds whenever I want (it's hilly). Hunting laws limit me to non-existent pigs, very few coyotes, or an abundance of groundhogs. In working up powder/bullet combos, I eventually settled into the speer 130gr HPs and IMR 4227 powder. For MY situation, it works great, mostly punching paper and keeping the groundhogs in check. My best shot is cutting a quarter in half at 88yds. (quarter was sideways) I've done it many times, but usually cannot find the evidence. I was able to get one half by sticking it in a crack in a log, which when I hit it, shoved it a foot down the crack. It remains my go-to gun for taking whiskers off groundhogs, but as I age, the recoil... well, it beats the hell out of me. (Rem700BDL). I've picked up a suitable replacement gun (Savage 110BA-338LM), which is kinder to the shoulder.
Sorry I got off track, but I guess what I'm trying to say is- each gun will have it's own "sweet combo", and finding it can be a challenge.

I`m shooting a Sporterized Remington 700 Action with custom trigger with 26" Lothar Walther heavy varminter Barrel 20MOA base and a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm LR/T M5 with illuminated reticle! i`m looking to hit whatever animal i can shoot(red stag, Moose) at approx. 500-800 meters and kill it using only one shot trough the heart and lungs!

Well, 130gr HPs would be explosive on mouse at 500-800yds, but probably not so good for moose. I never did investigate a heavy bullet combo. I had some potentials when I found the light bullet, and it has served all I wanted. Good luck. I know the one gunstore here used to sell small bottles of powder, just for doing this thing.

Re: 30-06 Reloading Recipe??????(brass,primer,powder,bullet???))

Berger 210
49g H4350
Win brass neck sized
CCI200
touching lands

Not fast at all, but this load shoots in the .3s at 100yds in my Rem 700 sporter with 22.5" barrel.

Switched to 208g AMAXs due to price and if I get above 2600fps the groups really open up... Not sure why that is quite yet.

Tried R17 and could get mad speed, but no accuracy,

and h4831 and couldn't get the speed of R17 and no accuracy above 2600fps.

Many people think h4350 is the perfect powder for the 30-06 case, and I'm beginning to agree, for my rifle anyway, but if your rifle will shoot that r17 well, the speed it offers is hard to ignore. A buddy shoots 48.4g of r17 under 208s from his .308 Win at 2600 around .5 MOA all day and loves it.

Good luck friend.

Pre 64 Win Mdl. 70 30-06....... 26 inch Brux barrel
Berger 190gr Hunting VLD
58gr H4831 (work up to)
Winchester cases
Federal 210 primer
.070 off the lands. (still fiddling with this)
Consistent 3 shot 2" groups @ 330 yards....cold barrel with two follow ups.
2680 Avg. Vel. @ 45 degrees

That is about the same as my plinking load for my scoped 30-06. I use .1 more Varget, a CCI 200 primer, and the Hornady 150gr FMJ.

This is the one shot I took today, using that load.

It is just a little weak, all my other 30-06 loads would have dented that steel.

My favorite load is:
Howa 1500 22"
Hornady 180gr SP; COL: 3.25
CCI 200
H 4831: 56.9gr
Case: Win

It is just as accurate as the above load but hits a lot harder.
