I worked with a friends rem auto last year. It was a good shooter with factory ammo and would do 1" to 1.25" with factory ammo. But we shaved that down to 3/4-1" with 55 grains of IMR 4350 and a couple different 165 bullets. Do a little research and see if you can come up with some accuracy loads in some manuals and use them. You probably want to stop about 1-2 grains short of max loads for an auto. Also, the above I4350 load didn't tear up the brass nearly as bad as the factory ammo when it was ejected.
