284 chamber freebore

Standard 284 win chamber print. What is the freebore dimension? Thanks.

Length is 0, diameter is .290(or would be if it had any).

So I had heard the saami chamber had long free bore because it was chambered in an auto loader. Hmm. I'm guessing this chamber would not be good for berger or eld's.

Those bullets might shoot great with that chamber, they'll need seated very deep in the case though. SAAMI spec for OAL was only 2.8" to fit the magazines of the rifles it was originally used in. Built on a rifle that will handle a longer OAL you could certainly lengthen the throat and move the bullets out. 284 with heavy bullets is popular with F-class shooters so there's lots of info out there on it.

Been a long week, maybe still hung over but looks to me like Kiff has a .001 bust in his print.

.379- .197= .182

Dim "a" shows .181

But yes- it's "either" .181 or .182 depending on which number you want to use
