I am doing load development with my 280AI. Using IMR 7828ssc with a Berger 150 gr Classic Hunter bullet. I also have 168gr Classic Hunter bullets to. But kind looking for data with the 150gr. I have several boxes to play around with. Is seating depth as picky on them like the VLD bullets are? Like to know how they preform on game to. Wanting to use on a spring black bear hunt. In Montana or Idaho hopefully. Hoping to get the 7828ssc to work in my rifle. Shooting a Xbolt Speed Long Range 280AI 1@8 26-inch barrel. I just picked up several more cans of IMR 7828ssc. The velocity is little high than some of the other powders. But the accuracy has to be there to. Going to keep the shots under 500 yds. That's why I was wondering about the Classic Hunter bullets.

I shoot 7828 long cut in both the std and AI. Accuracy with both is best with Federal 210 primers with loads at max for the rifle in the std and darn near that with the AI. I am shooting 160-162g in the std., and the 175s of various types in the AI.

I am using new nosler brass.(Cant find any Peterson brass.) Federal 210 match primers. Never shot any of the Classic Hunter bullets before. Later on i'm going to play around with some ELD bullets. In X 175gr and M 180gr weight. And some Berger 175 gr Elite Hunter bullets.

Peterson just did a run. They can tell you where it's available.

QL with the 150 and 7828sc shows 3114 with the filters off and 63k. I would consider that a max load.

IMR 7828ssc is a very good powder choice for the .280AI and you're fortunate to have plenty to develop a load. It is scarce these days. Velocity should not be a problem. Keep us posted on your load development.
