280AI chamber throat issue?

I purchased a 280AI 1:8 twist Remage barrel for my 700 LA. Set it up with go & no-go gauges. (Not my first, or even second barrel install)
In doing my jam test with 160AB, 168VLD and 168LRX I found this..
All of these cartridges end up between 3.430- 3.485 COAL when jammed to the lans!!
I don't see how these rounds can cycle, is the throat cut way too long? Will they cycle??

Doesn't your R700 LA allow a little over 3.670" COAL?

What do you mean?

Normally, head height(OAL - CL) is 0.805". Touching, I would guess standard chambers would be 0.835".

I prefer 0.900" head height.

Yours is 0.930". With 0.030" clearance, 0.900"…..perfect! The mag should be 3.430". Not sure…how does Remington get 3.700" cartridges in their long action? Do they have an adjustable bolt stop or something?

The rifle is not yet fully assembled, barreled action only currently. I based the "too long" on various OEM 280AI cartridge lengths, various post on max cartridge and the rounds will not fit through the ejection port, which is where you load a BDL. Norma 280AI round is 3.330, which is .110-.145 shorter. When jamming 140 VLDs, there is only a few thousands in the neck.. so it's not going to shoot the 140s at all.

the rifle was a 25-06. Didn't want to keep moving forward on the assembly if the chamber is not cut correctly.

Continue build and just shoot it.
Stop worrying about jam, jump, throat and twist.
Seems to me, your intended bullet of choice and how you want it to be are at odds.

It's a hunting rifle and I actually want to shoot the 160 AB, but would like options on 140 to 180. Wanted to be able to get near jam, and the round not be too long to cycle.
