Had a lot of help from you guys on this build, and specs for my barrel. SO I thought I'd follow up with some pictures.

Rem 700 action
SAAMI 280 Ackley
24" barrel
11 deg Crown
#3 contour
1:8 twist
Timney trigger
Bell and Carlson stock (freedom green)
Leupold VX3 3.5-10 x 40 CDS (keeping the MOA dial though).

My goal is RL 26 with 168 grn Berger VLD Hunting (it was throated for those). The 1:8 twist is to keep some flexibility to shoot the 168 grn Barns LRX, as well as the heavier VLD bullets if I ever wanted to.

Those bullets are (left to right): 150 grn Nosler ABLR, 168 grn Berger VLD Hunting, and 168 grn Barns LRX. :D

Thanks again guys for the help! Still haven't shot it, I need to do the barrel break-in first. I probably won't do any accuracy development until I get once-fired brass to work with.

Who did your smith work, if you don't mind me asking? The reason I ask is because my smith's signature ID mark is the bead-blasted matte finish on the stainless barrels and bolt shrouds, too. Never seen anyone other than him that does that.

Pac Nor did the barrel, and installation. One of their services is either polished or bead blasted.

10-4, I was just curious as I had never seen that done by anyone other than my smith.

That's a good looking rifle.
