I have a new rifle,Kimber 8400 Classic 270wsm.
Has anyone got data on the 270 wsm,shooting 140grs Nosler Accubond.
Powder i have N550,n160 and Norma MRP.

I had the same rifle that shot exceptionally well with sub .5 moa but using 62.5 gr IMR4350 with 140 Accubonds or Ballistic Tips to same POI. Used Win brass and Fed Magnum primers. Velocities were 3200.

I too have a "new", at least to me, 270 WSM. Mine is the opposite of yours. I have a Winchester High Wall with a 28 inch barrel. I am interested in what you learn and will follow this thread. I do have experience with a 270 Weatherby with a 24 inch barrel, it was made by Mac Bros early in their existance on a Santa Barbra Mauser. The lock time was terrible and at the time there was not a speedlock kit. What I learned from this custom rifle was that the 150 gr bullets could be driven at speeds above 3200 fps and the 130 gr bullets only a few fps faster. I have 140 Accubonds, ballistic tips, and Berger hunting hollowpoints on hand and will wring them out. I have chosen to start with 150gr ballistic tips however. Following is some quickload data I found. MRP is one of the top powders. That is where I would start. MRP is not currently available in the US. I would like some but it is likely the next batch will be unlike the current. 65WSM

Bullet : .277, 150, Nosler PART SP 16323

I've had great success with between 61 & 64 gr of RL-19.
2 of the 3 270wsms I load for love 62 gr the other prefers 61 all with 140 Accubonds.
IMR 4831 & 150 gr SSTs did well together also.
All 3 rifles I load for are Model-70 Winchesters

What COL's do you guys use?

I have found that my 2.887 COL touches the lands and fits and feeds in magazine so I was thinking about working up loads to this length searching for better accuracy.

Mine are different for each rifle, but I'm .015 or less off the lands with both 140 Accubonds, and 150 SSTs.

Bigngreen has some wicked fast loads, but he took his time working up to em. Try sending him a P.M. he has a ton of data. If I remember right he's on his second/third barrel...? For that rifle in 270wsm hehehe

I have got some N560 powder now,but i am still waiting for the Redding die set and Nosler E-tip.I have tried my Kimber with some fabric ammo,Federal Fusion 150grs(3 shot,25mm)and Federal with Nosler Accubond 140 grs(3shot,30mm).
I hope i will get some better accuracy with handloads.
Anyone tried Nosler E-Tip in 270wsm?

I get the same performance, with the same caliber and rifle, same load,(62.5gr@3200fps) using 140 Ballistic Tips or Accubonds, same POI. I have always been surprised on this site that the Model 70's get very low exposure. I have had several over the past 40 years of all generations including a couple of pre-64's. They have all shot equally or most of the time better than the Reminton, Savage , Kimbers, etc. I have owned....right out of the box. I expect it is the receiver design, making it more difficult to rebarrel and bed than the round actions which the gunsmiths prefer.

I have tested some loads with Norma MRP powder,N550 and N560.

My best 3 shoot group is 1"with N550 61,5grs 3295fps.
But i have another problem.When i am starting to shoot with cold and cleaned barrel,the first shoot is going 3"to the right,the second 2"to the right and the last is going 1 1/4"to the right.
My second 3 shoots group are also going to the right,but not so mutch.
The third 3 shoots group is going in senter.

That is wrong with this rifle,is it the barrell?

MRP should be very fast with 140 Accubonds. Maybe the fastest of all. I shoot Accubonds close to the lands. Norma slow powders like MRP are scarce here. The importer Paul Co is all screwed up.
