Gents, does anyone have starting charge wt. For 270wsm/116 hammer combo ? Maybe imr 4350, imr 4831, imr 4451 rl 23, 25, 26. Thanks guys

I finished a range session yesterday and have some info about what I used in "my rifle". The rifle is a accurized 700 rem, 10tw Bartlein bbl@25". I started a ladder test w/imr4350 @55gr and loaded up to 68 gr, in 1 gr increments with the 116 gr Absolute Hammers . The upper end started show excessive pressure at 66-68 gr loads. Velocity was 3580fps but hard bolt lift warned me to back off. Had a node at 45-46gr at 3407fps. Shoots 5 shots under 1/2". Very pleased with velocity and accuracy. Waiting on deer season for further testing.

Apologies, my node weights should have read 63-64gr, instead of 45-46. Not sure how that got in there, still excited about how well it shot,lol

I'm at 64.7 gr of h4350 @ 3430-40 fps. Was on the hotter side.

I will be trying to work up a load for my nephew's 270 WSM. I got some HH in 117 Gr. All I have for powder is IMR 4350, H-4831SC, and IMR 4831. I hope one of those powders will work. Do I need MAG primers?

3407fps. Crimping bumped it up to that,was 40fps less on initial tryout.

Interesting, I was comparing the h4350 to my results. I ended up going with large primer as I saw pressure early with the magnum. I think it might have been a 26" barrel as well. But at 3430-40, I feel I didn't do too bad looking at ql. Thanks for posting that!
