hi
I have the rem sendero 7mm mag. here is my load
168 vld hunting
70 grns h1000
fed premium brass
fed 215 mag primers
.020 of lands
does 2700fps sound about right for this load. any input would be appreciated
thanks

any pressure signs?

I had to push mine to around 5grns over max recommended load(by hornady) of 7828 to get to any pressure on my 700 BDL. I settled @ 70.4grns @ 2925 w/ a 162 amax.

I don't recall the max rec load right off hand but it was around 64-65grns and I was seeing 2500ish fps with some spreads in the 100-400fps(some of that may have been the old chrono I was using.

Now I look back and it kind of scares me.

Yes that is slow. My data is around 70 -71 gr (can't remember off the top of my head) and was getting around 3050 or so. Is the gun new? When I bought my 7mm Remington 700 sps new, it would shoot about 2750 no matter the bullet or load. I sent it back to Remington and they gave me a new barreled action and now it shoots fine.

I have a similar problem/issue with a 284 that when packed tot he rim with H4831SC in a very compressed load that the book says i should be getting 2900 out of with 140 accubonds i am getting closer to 2630. This was close to a book max load but i literally was into the neck with the powder. It is extremely accurate for a light weight hunting gun and at 600 i was shooting sub 2.5 inch groups but when i thought i would need 11 minutes of elevation i actually needed 16. My dilemma is that i don't care so much about the trajectory as ill take accuracy any day in a medium range gun but the velocity at which the bullet hits. At 600 i am getting sub 1800 fps and that is becoming my limiting factor. I guess its just not easy to get everything you want at all times.

so far I have only chrono'd 150 grn etips 67.0grn IMR7828 cci mag primer 3030fps low to 3161fps from a 10 shot sting 3116fps average. My book lists max load 69.0 but, I stay here as the accuracy is 3/4" @100 meters and I am quite satisfied with that.
I have some 175 sp's ready to go the list is for 2790 fps, next time out to the range I will see how fast they really are.
