I have 4 270 Win's and WSM's I have found the best/heaviest slugs were 140. 150's are semi-stable (marginally stable) . I like having 1:8" twists in any 270 diameter cartridge is far better than the 1:10". I can stabilize a 170/175 grain slug for almost a mile with the 1:8" twist and the sub sonic slugs work best with 1:7".

Run your parameters through the JBM Ballistics Stability calculator. I believe it is the most accurate of what is available on the interweb.

I am sure you will get any variety of answers to this question, however the only real way to find this out with your rifle is to load up some ammo and head to the range. I load 9 rounds of each load in testing and use three shot groups of three to compare each load. No sense loading 20 rounds just to find out that your rifle does not like it.
