I just shipped off to the gunsmith my Ruger M77 .270 WSM along with a new bedded stock to allow a heavier contour med varmint or Sendero, my intention is to move over to 6.5 WSM in a 26", 7.5 rate of twist , keeping in mind it has the Ruger WSM magazine and this gun will be used for hunting deer I hope to be able to load 140's and heavier bullets. not sure of any needed free bore clearance or any other technical dimensions that may be required to do so. I did pick up some Lee dies in 6.5WSM, and have 300 pieces of 270 WSM brass in good shape. I am days away from giving final instructions on this build, any thoughts from those of you appear to be very familiar with this Caliber would be greatly appreciated .
