It is defensive edges throat design. It can shoot standard 270wsm but hand loading will allow additional powder/velocity. Rl26 is the powder of choice. I have only shot it five times so far breaking it in.
 
I haven't ran it over a chronograph but according to Shawn Carlock at defensive edge it should be knocking on 270 weatherby and the likes door for velocity.
 
The short action and 3" mag box keeps it around SAMMI seating depths I believe. My factory rounds run around 2.875" COAL. The twist will get you into the heavies no problem though.
 
I built it to shoot the 169.5's I have so it is good for the heavies or whatever floats your boat.
