270 ai

thinking of building a 270 ackley improved.but can not find much info. thank you for any info that can be provided. load info. , accuracy , any thing.

In his book,Ackley states that since the orignal .270 is overbore capacity,little impprovement can be expected although some shooters say it is a fair cartridge for bullets heavier than 150 gr.Due to its relative inefficiency, it is not recommended.

Ackley didn't have near the selection in propellant and projectiles that we have today! Its a brave new world, out there. Only drawback I see to the .270 is variety of bullets, other calibers a have wider selection. Seems the .280AI would be a better choice. just my 2 cents

i have a 280 ai now. that is what has me thinking of the 270 ai. the 280 is a great gun. thanks

Any thing the 270 AI will do the 280 AI will do better.

If you are wanting something different you might look at the 6.5/280 AI for a great selection
of bullets compared to the 270.

just something to think about.
