.270 Ackley Magnum?

Has anyone ever heard of one? My neighbor stopped by with a sporter built on Gewehr Mauser action, no stamping anywhere in regards to cartridge. Together we slugged the bore and it shoots .277 bullets. The bolt has a magnum bolt face and the chamber is counterbored for a belt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, by the looks of the recoil pad, it's old. Here's a pic of a wax cast my neighbor did, shoulder looks to be 40 degrees.

What are the dimensions on the case casting?

270 weatherby blown out (improved) and 264 win mag necked up were both wildcats in 50s 60s and 70s

ACKLEY despised their OVERBORE characteristics!!!

With a fast twist barrel and chamber accommodating long high bc bullets, new slow powders.....

I can some general measurements from his wax cast, he's going to order some cerrosafe and get a better cast. Definitely had me scratching my head when I first took a look. A hot rod .270 sounds pretty cool to me.
