currently using h-870 in 264 mag but my supply is low and finding anymore around here aint happening.what else works good for you with 140 gr bullet?26 inch barrel model 70

Dud, they haven't made H870 in over a decade so its no wonder you can't find any of it! I have used H1000 in 264Mag with good results but I think about any of the really slow powders might give decent results, though you never know until you try it. I have never cared for my results with the Alliant rifle powders but many handloaders swear by them. I think Accurate Arms stopped producing the AA8700, at least that is what I think I read recently. That may have been a good propellant for the 264.

a decade, when i got last 5 pounds 2 years ago i did not know that maybe i should have taken the last 5 he had.i will try the 1000.my doings with the reloader powders seems to be up and down like yours.

I would look at like or closer burn rates at the link/table below and chose a specific powder and load up with already achieved data such as bullet, primers, COAL and head to the range!

My 264 win mag loves Retumbo. I have a 27 3/4 barrel and get 3350 fps and ragged hole groups at 100 and under 2" at 300 with 130 Nosler Accubonds with 66.5 grs and the bullet 10 thousands off the lands. I took 4 deer with this combo this past season from 98 to 275 yards and it did a number on each. Bang Flop.

My rifle likes Retumbo also, 68 grains under a 140 gr Berger, WW case, 215M primer, gives me 3166 fps in a 26 inch barrell.

I have a 264 in rem 700 BDL it does not care for the retumbo but loves H4831SC and H1000.

What I like about the extreme powders is that they do not change have very big variances when going from one extreme to the other or at least in my Rem 700.
