Wanted to start a discussion and post results on some progress being made using Hornady's new 134gr ELD bullet.
Rifle specs:
DPGunworks Zermatt Origin Build
26" Sendero Contour Shilen Select Match 1:7.5 twist
25SST Rev B chamber
MDT HNT26
This is my current NRL Hunter rifle
Initial testing with the Hornady 134gr bullet is showing promiss but is definitely more picker than the 135gr Bergers out of my current 25sst. Picture of a loaded 134gr Hornady ELD next to a 6mm Creedmoor
First initial test are with rounds .030" off touch. (Barrel was removed and coal seated to touch point is felt). These projectiles in my current lot did not vary CBTO by more than .001" and COAL only varied .001-.004". Pretty impressed with the consistency of Hornady's 134gr
Initial testing at 100 yards shown here:
Groups are not so good as compared to the 135gr Berger load worked up.
Initial test:
134gr VVN565 @ 58gr: 3065 fps - No pressure
134gr VVN565 @ 58.5gr: 3090 FPS - No pressure
134gr VVN565 @ 59gr: 3109 FPS - No pressure
Next batch loaded at 59.5 - 61gr for testing
