I found this late 50's, Remington 722, 18" barrel in a pawn shop in West Phoenix. It's had a 1950's Weaver on it, and smelled like cigarettes. Already had a super crisp trigger, that probably goes at 3# or so. If it could talk I bet it could tell some cool western hunting stories. Shoots lights out with 43gr H4350 and the 117 game kings. I alcohol inked the stock with teakwood and rosewood, and put a leupold 4-12 on it. Super cool little mountain gun.

Love it. Is that the original stock?
It is the original stock. I sanded it, primed it, and than alcohol inked. I was going to leave it original, but the stock had some hair line fractures in it, and this one will definitely be in the field a bunch. Probably would have kept more value leaving it original, but it's going to be used a lot so I wanted the wood sealed from the elements.
